The Royal Guard

The fifth-year class of the Arganzza Guard had one very simple mission: protect the royal family. However, on the day Marcellus led a mutiny against the Castle and proclaimed himself Prince, the Guard failed to live up to its duty.

Despite everything appearing to be going according to plan, Marcellus knows that somewhere out there is someone powerful enough to put the continuation of his reign at risk.

Alec and Lidice grew up in a poor neighbourhood on the outskirts, unaware of the great luxuries and equally great conspiracies of Arganzza. But everything changes when Alec is poisoned with a magical substance and taken to a secret base. There, they discover that they have a place reserved at the Royal Academy of the Guard — and that this is their best chance of surviving Marcellus’s future attacks.

On this new journey, Alec and Lidice must learn to master the powers of the Guardians and distinguish their allies from those who simply want to use them as pawns.
